Folks,
There is a Vet in my area who could use a few minutes of your time.
I am asking for a letter to your congressman on behalf of George R.
(Reggie) Harrison. Reggie spent the most part of his service as a P.O.W. He holds 2 Purple Hearts. He is a (multiple) stroke
victim. Most likely caused by the severe head trauma from beating
he received after escape attempts (his third was successful). He
has been able to establish that he was a P.O.W., but the VA won't
consider him disabled because they can't verify his state of health was
service related. Supposedly his records are among those lost in
the St. Louis fire. His wife has tried to get home medical care
and that isn't supported by the VA either.
I have copies of his Discharge and P.O.W. verification. Also I can
provide an address for anyone who would also like to send a card of
thanks to this forgotten hero. I can be contacted at
